About us

Our journey began in 2010 when João set out to explore the world of screen printing from scratch. One morning, he woke up with an idea, built his first light table, and crafted a few frames by hand. That was the start of an intense period of experimentation—learning through trial and error, testing materials, and refining techniques. Through persistence, countless mistakes, and a relentless drive to improve, his skills grew into what you see today: high-quality prints, crafted with precision and care.

While João was immersed in the art of screen printing, Urša was studying graphic design and teaching herself to sew—also through hands-on experimentation, learning from both successes and failures.

In 2013, we combined our skills and took our first steps into professional screen printing in Brasília, Brazil. The journey wasn’t always smooth—we faced setbacks and celebrated victories, learning invaluable lessons along the way. After several years of honing our craft in Brazil, we made the big decision to relocate to Ljubljana, Slovenia, where we continue our work today, printing from our rented apartment.

By 2019, we had gathered enough experience and knowledge to launch our own brand: Tribo28—a reflection of our dedication to creating unique, high-quality merchandise.

From the beginning, we built much of our equipment ourselves. We constructed our own light table and wooden frames before we could afford aluminum ones. Hardware stores became our second home. We washed screens in every shower of every apartment we rented, and to this day, our living room doubles as our production space.

We developed our own printing system—without big machines, without corporate backing—just the two of us, our handmade tools, and our hands.

When you buy from us, you’re supporting two independent artists who are passionate about making high-quality, durable products. Every product is crafted with care, dedication, and the belief that great things come from perseverance and creativity.
